PIERCING AFTERCARE & HEALING
How long should I wait to change out jewelry?
In most cases, we recommend waiting about 6 to 8 months. Some piercings will require a downsize sooner to promote better healing. In that case, follow the piercer’s instructions.
Is there a fee for having a piercer change my jewelry?
Yes, in most cases there is a service fee of $10 plus tax, in addition to the cost of jewelry should you need to buy a new piece. There is no service fee for downsizes when the original piercing was done by us, though you will still have to pay for the cost of jewelry.
Can I change my jewelry from a stud to a ring?
Absolutely! This is normally not an issue. For most piercings, we recommend waiting the full healing time of 3 to 6 months before making the switch. For nostrils, we generally will not put a ring in a piercing until 6 to 8 months have passed, as they can be very sensitive and prone to irritation bumps.
There is a bump on my piercing, is this normal?
It is likely that you have an irritation bump. It is not a scar or keloid, and is caused by irritation. Using hot compresses (soak a clean paper towel in hot water, and gently compress the piercing for 5 to 10 mins; do this daily until irritation subsides) will help. Reducing irritation from outside factors (ex. soaps, sleeping on the piercing, clothing rubbing) will also help.
I think my piercing is infected, what do I do?
If you are concerned about the state of your piercing, please come in to the shop to have a piercer look at it, free of charge. They can recommend the appropriate course of action.
The jewelry I purchased here broke, is there warranty?
If you bring the broken jewelry to us, we can assess the damage and organize ordering you a new piece from our jewelry providers and replacing it free of charge. This will be at the discretion of the piercers, considering the duration you've had the jewelry and the circumstances of it's breaking. Always come in and ask questions!
