Do you take walk-ins?
We can usually accommodate most piercing-related walk-ins, though we do prioritize appointments. The chances of us fitting you in are higher if you are looking to get a single piercing, a jewelry change, or a consultation. Is there a minimum age for piercings?
Yes, and this varies depending on the type of piercing. We will only pierce ear lobes on children above the age of 4 years old. Teens between 14 and 18 can get most piercings with parental consent (those 16 and above with their own government-issued photo ID do not need parental consent). Nipples and genital piercings can only be done on those above 18 years of age.
Do you use a piercing gun?
No, we use sterile single-use needles. Piercing guns are a considerable health and sanitary concern; they also cause blunt force trauma at the piercing site that can affect healing. Single-use needles do not cause this trauma.
What kind of metal do you use in your jewelry?
All of our jewelry is implant-grade titanium. This is the same metal used in surgical screws, braces, and other medical devices. It is 100% body safe and will not aggravate any metal allergies or sensitivities. We do also carry gold, though these pieces are mostly ends, gems, and rings.
Can you pierce me with my own jewelry?
In most cases, no. We do not pierce with outside jewelry. We can sometimes pierce with jewelry that has been bought from us, though we require the jewelry in question to be brought into the shop the day before the appointment so that we can clean and sterilize it.
Do you offer dermals and/or surface piercings?
We offer microdermal piercings on a case by case basis, dependent on our jewelry availability! This is due to the low demand for this type of piercing, however, we are hoping to expand these services soon! Our piercers are also more than happy to discuss information regarding microdermals; doing your research is important!
What is an anatomy check? Why might I need one?
When speaking to a piercer, they may mention you needing an anatomy check for certain piercings. This just means having them take a look at the area you are getting pierced and ensuring that your anatomy will work for the piercing. Some piercings are more anatomy-specific than others; piercings like industrials, navels, tongues, smileys, nipples, and genitals (among others) can generally only be performed on clients with the proper anatomy to accommodate them. If you don't have the anatomy required, our piercers may offer you alternative piercings or pieces of jewelry to get you a result closest to what you'd like. Every body is different, and there is always the possibility that a piercer will recommend not getting a piercing if your anatomy does not suit it.
What do I need to bring to my piercing appointment?
We require everyone getting pierced to bring a piece of government issued photo ID for our paperwork. If the person getting pierced is under 18 and does not have their own government issued photo ID, we require a parent or legal guardian's government issued photo ID, as well as a government issued ID for the child that lists at least their name and birth date (healthcare cards, birth certificates, status cards, and passports are acceptable forms of child ID).
